LEDES 1998B Format

The most common LEDES used today is LEDES 1998B format and is the successor to LEDES 1998.

LEDES 1998B format is a pipe delimited format with 24 fields. Newer versions of LEDES formats have been created, including LEDES 2000 and LEDES XML E-Billing, but according to LEDES.org: LEDES 1998B “is the most-widely used electronic billing standard in the legal industry.”
